Gauhati University is looking for a suitable qualified persons for appointment for the following posts:
1. Secretary, University Classes - 1 (one) post (Permanent)
2. Controller of Examinations - 1 (one) post (Permanent)
3. Director, College Development Council - 1 (one) Post (initially for a period of 5 years)
Qualification for the above three posts:
A. A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade of B in the seven point scale.
B. At least 15 years of experience as Assistant Professor/ Lecturer with 8 years as Associate Professor/ Reader/ Selection Grade Lecturer along with experience in educational administration.
OR
Comparable experience in a research establishment and/or other institutions of higher education.
OR
15 years of administrative experience of which 5 years as Deputy Registrar or equivalent grade.
Desirable: 1. Ph.D. degree shall be desirable but not an essential qualification.
* For the post of Controller of Examinations adequate experience in conducting University level
examinations is essential
Scale of Pay: UGC Scale of pay of Pay Band Rs. 37,400-67,000/- (PB-4) with Grade Pay of Rs. 10,000/- with other
allowances and benefits as admissible as per Gauhati University rules.
Age: Should not be below 45 years on 01.03.2013
4. Research Officer - 1 (one) post (Temporary on Contractual Basis) in G.U. Institute of North East Studies
( GUINES)
Essential Educational Qualification: As per UGC norms as required for the post of Assistant Professor.
Desirable: (i) MA in any North East language or cultural studies with M.Phil or Ph.D. and/or
(ii) Knowledge of Hindi and Tribal language with translation skill and/or
(iii) Working experience in the North East related Studies.
Pay: Consolidated pay of Rs. 15,000/- P.M.
Age: Preferably below 38 years on 01.03.2013
